MB Contractors has recently completed a brand-new, six-story independent and assisted living facility with 128,520 square feet of livable space, a 25,217 square foot ventilated underground parking garage, and 1,353 square feet of private living area for each of the Village’s 95 residents.
The concrete, masonry, and stick frame structure built from the ground up by MB Contractors features a transitional split-face design with brick and cement lap and shingle siding. The Village’s roofing system consists of a combination of 30-year architectural-grade asphalt shingles and a durable EPDM membrane.
Interior work included the expert installation of drywall, acoustical ceiling tile, architectural wood columns, crown molding, chair rails, decorative glass balcony rails, tile, resilient flooring, and carpeting. Facilities include 8-foot corridors, a full-service kitchen, resident dining, several multipurpose activity rooms, a library on each floor, an inviting outdoor patio overlooking the Roanoke Valley, and private porches for each residence.
The Village’s structure and residents are protected with a cutting-edge, custom-tailored fire protection system with a wet sprinkler system in the conditioned areas and dry systems in the parking garage and attic spaces. A fully-functional fire alarm system communicates directly with Roanoke City Emergency Management Services. Additionally, the building contains two full-service hydraulic elevators and a backup emergency generator.
At MB Contractors, we believe this new construction project is exemplary of our team’s ability to handle all phases of commercial construction project, from planning and preconstruction through general contracting, construction management, and beyond.
