On the 90th anniversary of the association, MB Contractor’s Executive Vice President Michael Cagle, PE, was sworn in as the Vice Chairman of the Association of General Contractors of Virginia at the annual AGCVA convention this past weekend. Cagle led the convocation before dinner. Cagle will rise to the position of Chairman of AGCVA next year, and is currently serving as the District President of the Roanoke Chapter.
The ceremony included a few words from the retiring Chairman, Kevin Willis, as well as the presentation of a $94,000 check to the Wounded Warrior Foundation. AGCVA set a goal of raising at least $90,000 for the Foundation in the 90th anniversary year of its existence. They exceeded their goal by more than $4,000 and were honored to present the proceeds to Sal Gonzalez, representative of the Wounded Warrior Foundation. Mr. Gonzalez spoke for about ten minutes on the significance of the Foundation, as both an advocate and recipient of its services. Mr. Gonzalez served two tours in Afghanistan, losing his left leg just below the knee less than a month into his second tour. Mr. Gonzalez also brings attention to the Wounded Warrior cause as country music singer. You can see his message HERE in his audition for America’s Got Talent.
