Bristol, Va., (August 27, 2018) — MB Contractors has broken ground and will provide construction management services for The Sessions Hotel in Bristol, Virginia. The Sessions Hotel is an adaptive reuse involving the rehabilitation of three historic buildings on Goode and State Street in downtown Bristol.
The 74,791 square foot renovation project will consist of restoring the old Grocery Building (built 1915), Jobbers Candy Factory (built 1920), and Service Mill (built 1922), into 70 luxury boutique guest rooms, two restaurants, rooftop bar and patio, outdoor dining and music venue, full service spa, and rooftop gardens. The two restaurants, Simply Grand and Shovel & Pick, will be managed by gourmet chef and Southwest Virginia native Travis Milton.
The project will utilize state and federal tax credits to revitalize the classic architecture of downtown Bristol. The Sessions Hotel is scheduled to open for operation in July 2019.
