Market Square Ribbon Cutting

We cut the ribbon on the Market Square Renovations today! MB Contractors President Todd Morgan joins Roanoke City Mayor David Bowers and others to celebrate the finalization of another major city improvement. The $1.1 million project replaced sidewalks with brick pavers on two city blocks, and added removable vendor space and pedestrian passage ways.  Intense reworking of underground piping for water, sewer and electric was required, adding to the already challenging timeframes deemed necessary by the city. 

Thanks to the solid coordination work of Project Manager Ken Graham and skilled tradesmanship of Superintendent Cracker Jenkins, MB Contractors was able to complete the project despite many wintery days.  Vendors with storefronts adjacent to the Market Square construction told reporters that they felt the pinch of lessened traffic during construction, but were satisfied that construction occurred during the ‘off season’ to begin with.
