It’s MAGIC!!! Mentoring a Girl In Construction YEAR TWO!!!

For the second year running, MB Contractors sponsored Virginia Western Community College’s summer program MAGIC: Mentoring a Girl In Construction.  What do the girls have to say about the program?  That they’re learning new things—making circuits and building plumbing! The best part:  the shed that the girls are building will go to the Habitat for Humanity All-Woman constructed house at 1314 Chapman Ave, sponsored by the Junior League!

Savannah says, “The wires are color coded, so you don’t connect the wrong things together.”  “Yes”, says Willa.  “You have to get the right wire connected to the right screw.” Tavia added “Even when you strip the plastic coating off, you still have to know which wire is which for mapping, so you don’t short circuit something.”  Mia says, “I’ve never done anything like plumbing before!”  Chris says “I learned that you have to put primer AND cement on PVC pipes for them to stick together right and stay together.”
